COMPANY HISTORY and INFORMATION

Robert and Morna Huser founded Huser Sales and Service Inc. in January 1948. The Huser's began with the design, sales and service of Walter Kidde fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems. Over the years, Huser Sales and Service became the largest supplier in the Portland area of both industrial and marine fire suppression systems.

In January 1988 James S. Bode purchased Huser Sales and Service. Under the direction of Mr. Bode the fire suppression services were continued while at the same time expansion was encouraged into new technologies to better meet the needs of our clients. These areas included more progressive fire alarm systems (both analog and digital types), the addition of CCTV, security, and card access / entry control systems.

In June 1996 the fire extinguisher and fire suppression systems portion of the company consolidated, and the electronic systems side of the business separated from it. To better reflect the focus of electronic systems integration, the new company's name was slightly altered from the original Huser Sales and Service. In May 2001 an IDS (Identification Services) division was created. This new division is dedicated to photo I.D. systems and all their peripheral components such as card printers, ribbons, laminating machines, etc. With the addition of this new division Huser uniquely positioned itself to fulfill the needs of our clients. With over 150 years of combined experience, rest assured as we have the solutions and technologies to meet your needs now and well into the future.

Directing the operations of the company from its inception in 1991, Michael Bode purchased Huser Integrated Technologies in 2004.

Projects of note with extraordinary complexity and demanding end-users

Huser Integrated Technologies is the Low Voltage Contractor responsible for supporting the entire ODOT camera Network in the Portland Metropolitan area (Region 1) since the systems' inception 13 years ago. We installed the first cameras and built the Video Head-end and Control Center for Traffic Management Operations (TMOC) in Portland. In addition, we designed and installed the Fiber Optic Network currently in use by ODOT today. That Network comprises three "self-healing" data rings that today handle over 320 PTZ Traffic Cameras as well as hundreds of ramp meters and traffic signals. This Network is the largest in the world for IFS - the Manufacturer of the Fiber Optic equipment and Multiplexes up to 120 cameras and Telemetry Data over two glass fibers concurrently. These are the traffic cameras you see on the local news every day.

Salem-Keizer School District - Salem, Oregon Access Control System - Several National Publications featured The Salem-Keizer Access Control System as a model for other Districts to follow; Managed across the Districts Enterprise backbone the system comprises 49 buildings, over 500 doors and over 7,000 users. This system is one of the largest of its types in the US.

Weyerhaeuser - Longview, Washington - As the sole Contractor charged with designing, installing, and maintaining all of the Security and Fire-Life Safety Systems, Huser Integrated Technologies has been on site since 1997. The site is a 6.5 square mile Heavy Industrial site that includes an International Port and compliance with MARSEC as well as other Homeland Security Directive's. System highlights include over 15,000 access control transactions per day at its inception, with automated gates at Railroad Crossings as well as the utilization of wireless, fiber-optic, POTS and standard copper communication paths.
